Sewing Pro Needed for Recurring Vintage Garment Finishing

A North Brooklyn business does recurring finishing and alteration work on vintage clothing and is looking for someone with strong technical sewing skills, especially around silk, silk chiffon, crepe, satin, and other delicate lightweight fabrics. What they're hoping you bring: • Real experience with vintage and delicate garments • Industrial serger/overlock skills, including a narrow, clean rolled-overlock finish • Industrial single-needle experience • A careful hand around existing seams, zippers, facings, and delicate construction • A solid feel for tension, stitch length, differential feed, and the right thread for lightweight silks • Sample-room, garment production, alteration, or professional dressmaking background is a plus • Your own professional sewing equipment This is recurring batch work — usually 10 to 30 garments per round, no fittings or customer meetings involved. They start new sewers with paid test pieces before handing over bigger batches. Pay is a competitive per-piece rate that scales with the complexity of the work. They'd prefer someone based in the NYC area.
